Current Ink is a monthly digital magazine exploring the intersection of art, identity, and contemporary culture. We seek work that challenges perspectives, evokes emotion, and offers fresh insights across a wide range of creative expressions.

We Welcome:

Fiction:

• Literary fiction exploring complex characters and situations

• Horror in all its forms (psychological, cosmic, folk, body horror, gothic, quiet horror)

• Speculative fiction including magical realism, slipstream, and fabulism

• Experimental fiction that plays with form, structure, and expectations

• Flash fiction that delivers impact in under 1,000 words

• Character-driven stories that explore identity and human connection

Nonfiction:

• Personal essays examining lived experiences and perspectives

• Cultural criticism analyzing contemporary trends, art, and social issues

• Creative nonfiction blending factual content with literary techniques

• Interviews with artists, writers, and cultural figures

• Reflective pieces exploring identity, belonging, and personal transformation

• Travel writing that goes beyond tourism to explore place and culture

Poetry:

• Contemporary poetry in various forms and structures

• Prose poetry blurring the lines between fiction and verse

• Experimental poetry challenging conventions of language and form

• Spoken word pieces and performance-oriented works

• Themed collections exploring specific concepts or experiences

• Visual poetry incorporating text and image

Visual Art:

• Photography capturing compelling moments, scenes, or concepts

• Illustration in various styles and mediums

• Digital art and new media explorations

• Sequential art and graphic narratives

• Collage and mixed media works

• Conceptual art with strong thematic elements

Interdisciplinary Work:

• Text and image combinations

• Multimedia projects adaptable to digital presentation

• Collaborative works between writers and visual artists

• Hybrid forms that defy easy categorization

Submission Guidelines:

• Original, previously unpublished work

• 1,500-3,000 words for prose pieces

• Up to 5 poems or a portfolio of 3-5 images for visual submissions

• High-resolution images for visual art (300dpi minimum)

• Brief artist/writer bio (100 words max)

Submission Fee:

We charge a $5 submission fee to support our editorial team and ensure thoughtful consideration of each piece. This helps us maintain the quality of our publication and provide feedback to selected contributors.

Selected works will be featured in our monthly digital magazine and archived in our online collection. Contributors receive promotion across our platforms and join our growing community of creative voices.
